New Events: By Huron Students, For Huron Students
Some of the new events Im proposing in order to make our huron community vibrant and fun!
These events have been planned with all huron students in mind, providing new and exciting social, athletic, and academic experiences for every student, having at least 1 event per week.
SOCIAL EVENTS
HUCSC FIFA World Cup Match
The FIFA World Cupis the worlds largest sporting event, happening every 4 years and being enjoyed by millions.
With HUCSC, it is possible for Huron students to have a once in a life time experience and go to the first world cup held in Canada, being able to go for free!
HUCSC HIRING FAIR
A day during clubs week where each HUCSC potfolio and the speaker set up a booth to introduce and explain all open positions for hiring within the HUCSC.
This helps breach the awareness gap within HUCSC hiring, as well as bring awarenes to the General Assambley and all open roles, proactively reaching out to students instead of waiting for them to reach out to us.
HURONS GOT TALENT
An opportunity to display the hidden talents of our Community, having a the opportunity to win some amazing prizes and opportunities or to enjoy an amazing show.
MONTHLY LIVE MUSIC @THE DAM
With our amazing beaver dam, and planned in conjuction with the staff, we will organize monthly live music nights, with free food, themed drinks, dancing, singing and enjoying!
We Will invite local artists from all different music genres to bring life and fun to our community, having a night to remember every month!
BI-WEEKLY TRIVIA NIGHTS
Bi weekly trivia nights with themes decided by you!
Every week the winner will get a prize, which will range from giftcards and merch, to partnership provided gifts, where we will collaborate with clubs or exterior organizations who can best help us enhance the weeks theme and prizes.

SEASONAL EVENTS
Themed fun for all!
There are several seasonal events which we can enhance, and host grreat celebrations with HUCSC for this festive dates.
Halloween Costume Contest & Haunetd House
Starting the night off with themed drinks, food, and a costume contest with prizes for the winners, to later go to an off campus haunted house for some fun frights!
St Pattys Party
For one of the most anticipated events of the year we will have live music, free food, and transportation to an irish bar for a fun night out!
And Halfway to St Pattys as Well :)
Valentines Speed Friending
For those who want to meet new friends (or maybe even more than that), come to the beaver dam to get to know new people and celebrate this day!
Winter Wonderland
During the season with the most events, HUCSC will be there with a wide range of activities!
From creating special seasonal merch, to enhancing holiday events, and having a lot of free hot chocolate for when the weather outside is frightful!
Fall pumpking pie competition
There is no better way to welcome the fall than free pumpkin pies and a prize for our fastest eater!

LSAT & TEACHERS COLEGE PREP SESSIONS
For all students who want to apply to law school or teachers’ college, these info sessions help us better prepare not only for the exams, but also to understand which courses are required, and the best academic and extracurricular approaches to them.
Partnering with Alumni, career development and recruiters.
Having someone who has experienced it shares their experience, suggestions and advice can be extremely valuable for these stressful plans!
JOB & GRADUATING FAIR
Together with career development and Hurons professional partners, bringing job opportunities specific for Huron students.
However, also bringing volunteer opportunities, additional degrees, further studies, and alternative opportunities for graduating students who do not want to immediately join the workforce.
INTERNSHIP PANNELS
It is important to not only have internship opportunities, but also pannels with alumni, students, and professionals who can give invaluable advice and connections for applying to specific roles.
MIXER WEEK: RE IMAGINING DEGREE DISCOVERY
Faculties, their council representatives, and HUCSC want to introduce a new way of connecting with students, especially those unsure about which degree to register for.
Instead of having a day where all faculties are in booths simultaneously, “Mixer Week” would allow for each faculty to host a panel, booth, or information session at separate, designated times in our student commons.
This way, students can visit specific degrees they are interested in and get a broader and deeper understanding of them, and faculty has the space to address students in their own unique way.
STUDY SESSIONS
Through HUCSSCX, I aim to enable faculties to host more academic support sessions, be it for very frequently attended classes, but also for those niche classes which students might need support with.
LATE NIGHT AGAINST PROCRASTINATION
Together with Student Engagement, bringing back a night with food, support, anti-stress workshops, yoga, and more activities which help us avoid procastrination and get our work done!
